Create and Manage Chart Note Templates

Templates are your secret weapon for faster charting. Build reusable layouts with your favorite sections, labels, and components, then apply them to new notes in seconds.

To access templates, open the Charting module and click Templates in the top-right.

Create a Chart Note Template

  1. In the Templates view, click New template in the bottom-right.
  2. Select a starting section component.
  3. Enter a template name and (optionally) assign a discipline.
  4. Add more sections by clicking Add section in the bottom-left.
  5. Rearrange, label, or customize sections as needed.
  6. Click Save.

Tip: To base a new template on an existing one, open the existing template, click Make a copy, give it a unique name, make your changes, and save. This is a quick and efficient way to build variations.

Edit a Chart Note Template

  1. Select a template from the list.
  2. Make your changes (add or remove sections, update labels, etc.).
  3. Click Save.

Delete a Chart Note Template

You can delete only templates that you created yourself.

  1. Select a template from the list.
  2. Click Delete in the bottom-right.
  3. Type “DELETE” (all caps) in the prompt.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.

Important: Deletion is permanent. Make sure this is the template you want to remove.

Filter and Print Chart Notes

You can filter the list of chart notes in a case file and then print the filtered results as a PDF.

  1. Open the case file and go to the Charting tab to view the list of chart notes.
  2. Click Filter.
  3. Select your options:
    • Provider: All providers or a specific individual.
    • Discipline: All disciplines or a specific one.
    • Date range: Choose start and end dates as needed.
  4. Click Apply.

The system updates the list to show only matching chart notes.

To print:

  1. Click Download and print in the top-right (next to the search box).
  2. The system generates a PDF containing all chart notes currently visible in the filtered list.

Tip: Adjust filters first to include exactly the notes you want in the printout. The PDF includes only what appears on screen after filtering.
